3-Week Yoga Retreat, Week 3, Day 2 – Stretch

This is going to be a shorter blog post. It’s really late and I’ve worked hard today both at work and around the house and have felt generally quite sleepy. I thought about putting yoga off, but I just really think it’s a good idea to do it no matter how late it might currently be, so I’m just going to get it done and will hopefully feel good about it afterwards!

Before 3-Week Yoga Retreat, Day 2 – Stretch: It’s 10:28 p.m. and I’m feeling tired and have a little bit of a headache. My back is also hurting a little more now than it did earlier today, so I’m hoping that doing yoga will help, and maybe that’ll help me to sleep a little better tonight than I might have otherwise.

WORKOUT TOOLS:
1. Yoga mat. Yoga is really, really difficult to do without a mat because it’s much harder to stabilize yourself and hold the poses without one. If you don’t have one, I really recommend getting one.
2. Optional yoga block. This is handy to have if you aren’t flexible or have poor balance and could use the extra support. I don’t have one and it’s definitely not required.

After 3-Week Yoga Retreat, Day 2 – Stretch: I’m glad I decided to do that. I think I might have hurt something in the area of my left shoulder blade a little, but that was my bad for twisting a little too far at the beginning. Making sure you don’t go TOO far is always something to be mindful of, and I wasn’t being mindful of how tight my shoulders are.

Aside from that, we did some stretches that we haven’t done before that felt REALLY good on my legs, especially after sitting so long at work, although the ones for the hamstrings were really quite difficult. Overall, I really enjoyed that video. I’m feeling more relaxed, I feel like my legs and arms got a good workout, and I’m ready for bed!

Tomorrow’s video is called Balance, and I’m looking forward to it. I’m really enjoying week 3’s videos so far, and I can’t wait to see what new poses we’ll be doing tomorrow. Check back tomorrow night for my thoughts on Day 3’s video, and thank you for reading!

Goodnight!
