3-Week Yoga Retreat, Week 2, Day 4 – Flow

So, I’m actually doing this one a day late. I wasn’t feeling very well last night, so I decided to just rest. Sometimes you really just have to listen to your body and give it what it needs, and that’s okay! So, today, I am doing yesterday’s video Flow, right after work, and then I’m going up to visit my mom (she also currently has my kiddos) and will hopefully do today’s video, which is only 20 minutes long, later tonight. This is also basically what I did last week, because I also had to skip my video for Thursday of last week because I just didn’t have time to do it!

Anyway… here we go:

Before 3-Week Yoga Retreat Day 4 – Flow: It’s 5:04 p.m.! I just got done with work, and I am feeling a bit tired and crampy today, but I’ve been sitting all day while working and have been really having trouble staying in my chair, so although I’m tired, I’m literally anxious to get moving. Flow involves a lot more steady movement rather than the more static poses, so I’m looking forward to it! My lower back is also hurting today a little, so I’m hoping the stretching we do will help that too.

WORKOUT TOOLS:
1. Yoga mat. Yoga is really, really difficult to do without a mat because it’s much harder to stabilize yourself and hold the poses without one. I learned this from doing PiYo in the past, so if you don’t have one, I really recommend getting one.
2. Optional yoga block. This is handy to have if you aren’t flexible or have poor balance and could use the extra support. I don’t have one and it’s definitely not required.

Before 3-Week Yoga Retreat Day 4 – Flow: Well, I was wrong. That had way more poses that we held for a while than I thought it was. Maybe I was thinking of Flow-on-the-Go, which is the next video and is shorter. However, the poses we held felt good, other than really making the legs burn, but that will be great for my leg muscles! And I think I was smart to take a day off, because I had a much easier time holding the poses today. My body must have needed the rest. That helped me to enjoy this video all that much more.

Well, this blog post will be short and sweet, because now it’s time for me to go up to my mom’s. I may or may not do the next video tonight, depending on what time I get home, or I may just wait until tomorrow 🙂
